CCM celebrated the Harvest Gathering at Thistleberry Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 15th.
Mitch Herald has resigned as Executive Director to pursue another employment opportunity. Mitch was instrumental in establishing CCM and has served well in several capacities. We wish him all the best!
Ruth Diaz is one of CCM’s Primary Directresses. She has been working a total of 8 years in the Montessori Schools. Ms. Diaz began her training in the summer of 2004 and started teaching that Fall as a student teacher. Through that experience she found the work that she loves.
We have some ideas for you! CCM GIFT CARDS Gift Cards are available from a variety of merchants. They make a wonderful Christmas gift and help the school at the same time. The CCM Book Fair was held September 4th and 5th. Thank you to everyone who helped make the Scholastic Book Fair successful. We sold nearly $2,000 worth of books. Several books were purchased for teachers’ Wish Lists. Even more books will be purchased using Scholastic Dollars earned during the Fair.
Many thanks to all who are so faithful with clipping those little Box Top coupons! The latest tally is complete...1250 Box Tops! Plus, we received a good number of Box Top coupons. When you add this submission in with the others since our last check, Chris Whitehead is expecting our December check to be over $350.00!

Sue Stauffer is CCM’s Office Manager, Primary Assistant (Wednesday to Friday mornings), Before Care Attendant, and a Helper/Gopher where ever she is needed.

The CCM Nelson’s Port-a-Pit Chicken Fundraiser was another huge success. Nearly $2,000 was raised for the School’s expanded music programs.
Beth Carmichael Bullard is CCM’s Principal and Lower Elementary Directress. Teaching Montessori is one of the highlights of Beth’s life. She says, “I can’t imagine teaching any other way. I love to come into my classroom every day.”
Chris Whitehead is currently collecting Box Tops for the November 1st submission. The total of all submissions for April to November 2011 will be paid to CCM in midDecember. After the November submission, CCM will have earned at least $211.10. But there is still time to add more Box Tops through November 1st.
Chris Whitehead is waiting until December to make one submission, as large as possible, for the Campbell’s products. The Company has a generous bonus to double submission totals, but the offer can only be used once. Teachers select from an on-line catalog to redeem items needed by the School, such as playground items, computer supplies, etc.
Certain Tyson products are eligible for the Tyson Project A+ program. Eligible products are specially marked “Project A+” and can be found on many family size bags of Tyson products, such as chicken nuggets or “Anytizers” or wings.

Medication that is to be taken at school must have a “Medicine Request” form filled our by a parent. This includes all prescription and over-the-counter medications. New forms must be completed when medication is changed and/or when the time period has elapsed.

There will be a Scholastic Book Fair coming up the week of Grandparent’s Day. Beth Bullard and Julie Hoggatt will be co-chairing the event. They are in need of 6-8 volunteers who LOVE books!
Karen Swan is CCM’s Assistant Principal and Infant/Toddler Directress. She has been teaching for 16 years. Mrs. Swan studied under world renowned Virginia Varga at CMTE - NY. There she received certification as an Infant/Toddler Montessori Teacher.
On Friday, August 19th, the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce welcomed CCM’s membership with a ribbon cutting ceremony that kicked off that day’s Open House.
